Sarvega creates the hardware and software to assure the security, reliability and performance of XML-based network traffic. I redesigned the software to "think critically" about a problem and provide notification which is actionable instead of vague or confusing.
The new design also affords a complete and unambiguous view of network health and quick and intuitive gestures to accomplish routine tasks.

MobileManager allows companies to manage the configuration and security policies for their employees' mobile devices. Service Manager provides the same level of visibility and control for IT executives and support technicians to manage their mobile network infrastructure.
I redesigned both applications so that the operational activities are more efficient, and support troubleshooting tasks are more contextual and simplified.

Predicting and preventing IT catastrophes is the nature of Integrien's business.
I redesigned their system monitoring and analytics software, Alive to make sure users can easily tell if there are any problems forming and take corrective action before systems fail.The design allows users to explore analytical details in multiple dimensions without leaving the dashboard, which in turn, provides a more intuitive experience and a more efficient task flow.

Client: Blue Vector
Blue Vector makes systems for the pharmaceutical, retail, distribution, and manufacturing industries to more easily track their products as they move from the factory to the retailer. A network of RFID and optical scanners allows this process to be accurate and efficient.
I designed both the touchscreen interface that a loading dock operator would use to process a shipment as well as the administrative interface that would be used to configure and maintain the system.

Client: Buchanan Technologies
Buchanan Technologies' was seeking a more elegant design for their sales dashboard, LCE Enterprise Portal. They wanted their customers to focus on the valuable sales information rather than gratuitous design elements that were constantly battling for the user's attention.
After a visual refresh the user interface is more elegant, the information easier to scan, and the interaction is now more intuitive and enjoyable.

I redesigned the configuration application to allow their customers more easilysetup the system without investing time and money on professional services. The setup process was designed to be appropriate for every user goal from a high-level product evaluation to a complete incident management system deployment.

Client: Lenel Systems International
Lenel is a leader in security solutions for large corporations. Their product, OnGuard, is an employee and visitor access control system which provides security for buildings. OnGuard's user interface was unattractive and had a steep learning curve, making new user
training both lengthly and costly.
I redesigned the user interface to simplify the navigation and keep the user focused on one key screen. This makes summary information scannable and details accessible from the same screen.Services rendered: Graphic Design, Interaction Design

Client: Old Republic Home Protection
Old Republic's home warranty division uses their own customer relationship management software to take and process phone calls in their call center.
I redesigned the system to be flexible and task-efficient after observing the issues call center representatives had to face.I also integrated their business flows so that decisions would be made consistently instead of based on how each service representative interpreted the rules. This made for a better customer experience and lowered the cost to train new employees.

Symmetricom's Q-Advisor application allows IT administrators to monitor their video streaming networks and diagnose and correct any problems that might arise.
I created a new visual style by calling attention to critical information whiledeemphasizing the rest. This, in turn, allows users to process information and react to an evolving situation more quickly and effectively.

Advent's investment management software, Geneva, gives fund managers the information they need to track investments, investment strategies, and multi-tiered fund structures.
I worked with Advent's domain experts to understand the needs and expectations of this highly specialized audience.With this understanding I then redesigned the user interface to streamline complex tasks and deliver a more usable and satisfying experience.

Client: General Dynamics
To secure the contents of sensitive computers General Dynamics created a workstation that securely stores all information — files, applications and even the operating system on a central server to easier protect and replace if the hardware is lost or stolen. These devices were originally developed for government
use, but then expanded into private industry and education.
I simplified the complex array of menus and hidden commands to make operation more intuitive for these new markets. The aesthetics were also updated to feel more familiar to a general audience.Services rendered: Graphic Design, Interaction Design

NetDocuments has a 20-year legacy in the document management business. They have found a niche with businesses that have more advanced needs around online document management such as law firms and financial services companies.
I redesigned their application to appeal to new customers without alienating their existing ones who had grown accustomed to the uniqueness of the user interface. I simplified the navigation and incorporated a more flexible framework, making documents and workspaces more accessible.
